History of CGSC
In November and December 1998, several forums were held for graduate students to discuss concerns about the Chemistry Graduate program at MIT. These forums were well-attended and produced a list of current issues and proposed changes to the graduate program.
On December 14th, 1998, graduate student representatives from each class met with Professors Lippard, Danheiser and Field to present the issues raised in the forums and recommendations for changes. These student representatives became what is now known as the Chemistry Graduate Student Committee (CGSC).
